Hi everyone, sorry for the delay. In the past three days we did not go to Capri (instead walked around Sorrento,) said goodbye to Vico Equense, and arrived in Rome. So, let's start where we left off: on Sunday. We got up and caught the train to Sorrento, where we had planned to take the ferry to Capri. After arriving a bit too late for the first ferry, we decided to stay in Sorrento. After walking up the very, very steep stairs from the marina back to town, we wandered the city for a bit. We went to the first site that we though was interesting, which turned out to be an art museum with a stunning view of the ocean and the cliffs. After going to the museum we went down to a seaside restaurant and had a lunch of tasty seafood and then returned to the train station for the ride back to Vico Equense for an early night before the trip to Rome. Yesterday we got up early and spent the morning cleaning out our house in Vico Equense before heading to the train station for the ride to Naples. After arriving in Naples, we hopped on our train to Rome. After 2 1/2 hours on the train, we arrived in Rome. A short bus ride later we got to our apartment, unpacked, and set out to see Campo d'Fiori and Piazza Navona. We saw the beautiful fountains in Piazza Navona made by Bernini and came home to sleep. This morning we woke up and took a walk a couple of blocks to Il Forno bakery (a world renowned bakery) for breakfast. After we went another couple of blocks, we turned a corner to go to the Pantheon. Then we strolled over to Trevi Fountain but they were cleaning it so we had to go back later. We also stopped by several churches and saw one Michelangelo and lots of Caravaggio. We then walked to the Vittorio Emmanuele II monument. We then walked around the Capitoline museum and looked at the special exhibit about the statue named The Boy with the Thorn. When we stopped for lunch, we had Kebabs and Pizza. In the evening we went through some other churches and compared two different types of Gelato and found a great Pear-flavored gelato. Pictures to follow, big day tomorrow.
